This collection opens with a track that connects directly to the sound world of Dystropisms — a product of the same self-coded virtual instrument, although behaving itself rather better and sounding positively radiant. The tracks that follow relate more directly to the album’s title, featuring either poems entirely or in part, or featuring discussion of poetry.
The Last Time includes quotes from Ted Hughes ‘The Offers’ from The Birthday Letters (1998).
‘Acquainted with the Night’ is a poem by Robert Frost, published in 1928 in his collection West-Running Brook. The poet himself was recorded reciting it in 1956.
The Martindale Continuum features poet Robert Creeley discussing the work of Louis Zukofsky.
